Α. Εθνικές Κατευθυντήριες Οδηγίες

Η Εταιρεία Μελέτης Καρκίνου του Πεπτικού Συστήματος (ΕΜ-ΚΑΠΕΣ) είναι μία επιστημονική, μη κερδοσκοπική εταιρεία η οποία ιδρύθηκε το 2012 και, με βάση το καταστατικό της, έχει ως πρωταρχικό σκοπό την προαγωγή της ιατρικής επιστήμης ως προς την αντιμετώπιση του καρκίνου του πεπτικού συστήματος. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, έχουν δημιουργηθεί εντός της εταιρείας διεπιστημονικές ομάδες εργασίες οι οποίες είναι επιφορτισμένες με τη μελέτη της διάγνωσης και της θεραπείας των διαφόρων καρκίνων του πεπτικού συστήματος με απώτερο στόχο την συγγραφή και έκδοση εθνικών κατευθυντήριων οδηγιών για κάθε καρκίνο χωριστά. Ο κ. Φουντουλάκης συμμετέχει ως συντονιστής στην ομάδα εργασίας για τη μελέτη του καρκίνου του οισοφάγου και ως μέλος στην ομάδα εργασίας για τη μελέτη του καρκίνου του στομάχου. Οι δύο αυτές ομάδες μετά από ενδελεχή ανασκόπηση της διεθνούς βιβλιογραφίας και χρησιμοποιώντας τη μεθοδολογία "Delphi" συνέταξαν και δημοσίευσαν για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα και την Κύπρο τις εθνικές κατευθυντήριες οδηγίες για την αντιμετώπιση του καρκίνου του οισοφάγου το 2019 και του καρκίνου του στομάχου το 2020. Έκτοτε, οι δύο ομάδες παραμένουν σε λειτουργία παρακολουθώντας διαρκώς τις επιστημονικές εξελίξεις και προβλέπεται να αναθεωρούν τις οδηγίες κάθε πέντε χρόνια περίπου.

Η σειρά Oxford Medical Handbooks είναι μία εξαιρετικά δημοφιλής σειρά ιατρικών βιβλίων που εκδίδεται στα αγγλικά από τον οίκο Oxford University Press και κυκλοφορεί σε πολλές χώρες παγκοσμίως. Αποτελείται από περίπου 50 βιβλία “τσέπης” με διαφορετική θεματολογία το καθένα, τα οποία απευθύνονται κυρίως σε νέους ιατρούς, φοιτητές Ιατρικής και ειδικευόμενους. Ο κ. Φουντουλάκης έχει συγγράψει το κεφάλαιο με θέμα την Χειρουργική του Γαστρεντερικού και των Χοληφόρων στο βιβλίο “Oxford Handbook of Key Clinical Evidence”.

Το βιβλίο “Εξελίξεις στην Χειρουργική - Σύγχρονες Διαγνωστικές και Θεραπευτικές Προσεγγίσεις” είναι μία ετήσια ανασκόπηση των χειρουργικών εξελίξεων στην Ελλάδα που εκδίδεται από τον εκδοτικό οίκο ΣΥΝΕΔΡΟΝ. Στο βιβλίο του έτους 2002, ο κ. Φουντουλάκης μαζί με συνεργάτες του συνέγραψε τέσσερα κεφάλαια με θέματα σχετικά με τη χειρουργική αντιμετώπιση του καρκίνου του οισοφάγου και του οισοφάγου Barrett.
